It takes a Village!

As we celebrate te rā tuawhā o Te Wiki o te reo Māori, we celebrate an awesome pakihi who are all about connection, culture and community.

@thevillagecafemotueka – A pakihi that incorporates te reo Māori every day, grab coffee, their bilingual menu invites and encourages customers to order in te reo and you’ll find a rauemi developed to support the everyday use of te reo Māori within The Village Café, this interactive resource uses beautifully designed QR codes placed throughout the cafe to bring Māori to life. Each QR code is linked to a specific area of the café, and when scanned, offers a free downloadable resource filled with kupu, phrases, and translations relevant to that space.

@meandmarleyaotearoa – A kaupapa created to uplift and normalise the use of te reo Māori in public. Through custom kākahu, they promote awareness of Māori values and provide phonetic breakdowns to support pronunciation and confidence in speaking. These are available to purchase in store at The Village Cafe.
